Water | How Much Do I Really Need?
Last week we worked on being 1% better with drinking or eating water. Continue your focus on being 1% better, but eventually this will become part of your daily routine and you won’t need to think about it much. This week we are going to focus on how much water you really need to drink each day.
Our starting point for most people is to drink half your body weight in ounces.
Example: If you weight 200 pounds, that’s 100 ounces a day.
That number will vary person to person though. Start with the 1% better mentality and slowly add a little bit each day until it feels easy and repeat. Adding one or two gulps of water a day is a great place to start if you hate drinking water.
Recommendations:
Drink 8-20 ounces of water first thing in the morning. Before coffee or food.
Pour a glass of water before you go to bed so it’s ready to go in the morning. Some people do better with room temperature or warm water first thing.
Purchase a fun water bottle (like this, or this) so you can always have something to carry with you.
Bring your water bottle to your workouts and daily walks.
Use this urine chart to adjust your water intake during the day.
